Use Job Relevance Scores to Rank Candidates

Overview

Job Relevance Scores allow your hiring team to rank candidates based on how well they match a specific opening. These scores help recruiters quickly identify top candidates, communicate hiring recommendations to teammates, and organize candidates throughout the hiring process.

Because Job Relevance Scores are visible to everyone with access to a candidate's profile, they provide a simple way to share evaluations across your hiring team.

Where You Can Use Job Relevance Scores

Job Relevance Scores are available throughout Trakstar Hire, including:

  • The Candidates list
  • Individual candidate profiles
  • Candidate filters
  • Candidate sorting options

This allows you to score candidates while screening them and use those scores later to organize your candidate pipeline.

Assign or Update a Score from the Candidate List

You can score one or multiple candidates directly from the candidate list.

To assign or update a score:

  1. Open the Candidates list for an opening.

  2. Select one or more candidates using the checkboxes.
  3. Click Job Relevance.

  4. Choose the appropriate star rating.
  5. Click Confirm.

Important: Updating a Job Relevance Score replaces the previous score, even if it was assigned by another user. All score changes are recorded in the candidate's Comments section for historical reference. This applies to any change in scores rating

Assign or Update a Score from a Candidate Profile

You can also manage Job Relevance Scores directly from an individual candidate's profile.

To update a score:

  1. Open the candidate's profile.
  2. Locate the Job Relevance star rating.

  3. Hover over the stars.
  4. Select the desired rating.

The candidate's score updates immediately.

As with bulk updates, changing a score replaces the previous value while preserving a history of changes in the candidate's Comments section.

Sort Candidates by Job Relevance

To quickly identify your highest- or lowest-rated candidates:

  1. Open the Candidates list.
  2. Sort by the Job Relevance option then click apply.

Candidates are reordered based on their assigned Job Relevance Scores, making it easy to prioritize screening and next steps.

Filter Candidates by Job Relevance Score

You can also filter your candidate list to display only candidates with specific scores.

To create a filter:

  1. Open the Candidates page.
  2. Click Add Filter.

  3. Select Job Relevance.

  4. Choose one or more star ratings.

  5. Apply the filter.

Selecting multiple ratings allows you to view a range of candidates, such as everyone rated four or five stars.

Remove a Job Relevance Score

If you no longer want a candidate to have a Job Relevance Score, you can clear it.

To remove a score:

  1. Open the candidate's profile.
  2. Click the candidate's current star rating.
    • For example, click the fifth star if the candidate currently has a five-star rating.
  3. When prompted, select Delete.

The score is removed from the candidate's profile.

Note: Although the active score is cleared, previous Job Relevance Score changes remain available in the candidate's Comments section for historical tracking.
